Delicious and quite healthy pongal made out of wheat rava.
Wheat rava- 1cup
Moong dhal-1/4 or 1/2cup(normally they use 1/4 cup but i prefer more dhal it gives nice consistency and taste to pongal.)
Oil/ghee- to fry
Jeera-1 tbp
Black Pepper -1 tbp
Ginger- 1 tsp finely chopped
Green chilli-1(just for flavour)
Salt- to taste
Cashew- chopped 1 tbs(optional)
Asefotida- a pinch
Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
Corriander and curry leaves

1)Heat pan and dry roast moong dal and wheat rava for couple of minutes(don't let it change colour.)
2)Add turmeric powder,salt to wheat rava and dal and pressure cook with 4 cup water .
3)Heat oil/ ghee in pan and add slightly ground pepper(If you have children its advisable to add whole pepper) and jeera.Add asefotida, cashew, chopped ginger,slit green chilli and curry leaves.
4)Add the cooked rava - dhal and mix well.
5) Garnish with coriander leaves.
Serve with Kotsu or coconut chutney.
