MYSORE BONDA/URAD BONDA
My dad's favorite.... hot bonda with coconut chutney.....ummm.... yummy....
Its the most simple and easiest, yet tasty item for a rainy day.
INGREDIENTS:(measurements are approximate)
Urad dal-2cups
Rice flour-2tbs
Salt- to taste
Green chilli(opt)-3(to taste)
Black pepper-1tbs
Ginger-small piece
Chopped coconut(opt)-1tbs
Corriander and curry leaves chopped
METHOD:
1)Soak urad for 3 to 4 hours and grind with ginger to smooth dough( by sprinkling water in between)
2)Mix salt,chopped chilli,pepper,chopped coconut,curry and corriander leaves to the dough
3)Mix rice flour to this.(my mom used to do this .she said this give a nice texture to bonda)
4)Heat oil in in a pan
5)Make balls out of the dough and fry till golden brown.
Serve hot with chutney or sambar.
Hmm its raining here...this looks perfect to eat now...
