VAAZHAIPOO(Banana flower)VADAI

This is one of my favorite snack. i love when my mom does this. She used to grind the dough in mixie but vazhai poo ,she will pound using Ammi(its used for pounding and grinding in Tamilnadu)to have coarse texture. Its difficult to get vazhaipoo near our place. we have to go all the way to newjersy to get these vegetables.I wonder why american stores, which sells banana and raw banana dosent sell the flower or the stem. At least the flower, ia m able to get in new jersy. but thandu(trunk)....:( no luck till now.vazhai poo is supposed to be good for our health in many ways. This flower has lot of medicinal values. According to siddha medicine the flowers is said to be good for bronchitis ,dysentery, ulcers. vazaipoo juice is given to stop for heavy menstural bleeding during menopause.Cooked flowers are given to diabetics; the astringent plant sap for hemorrhages, acute dysentery and diarrhea.
