Rasam ... Indian Soup,is supposed to be very good for digestion.There are different types of rasam...Pineapple rasam, Lemon rasam, Milagu rasam, Vendhaya rasam,Paruppu rasam,Plain rasam,Tomato rasam,Poondu rasam,Mysore rasam.... But Vegetable rasam ... It was new to me when my dad said. he said this was shown on Suntv long back.Since it was very similar to vegetable soup he tried and it was tasty. so... i tried. and we all liked it.Actually i don't know the name of this dish..my dad said 'soup rasam' and i call it 'vegetable rasam' :)
Broccoli-1 very Small
Turmeric powder-1/4 tsp
Tamarind-1 small lemon
curry leaf and coriander leaves
1)Chop all the vegetables and 2 garlic.
2)Add about 1 1/2 cups of water along with salt, turmeric powder,1/2 tsp pepper and 1/2 tsp cumin and steam the vegetables.
3)Soak tamarind and extract the pulp
4)Make a coarse powder of 1/2 tsp cumin and pepper along with coriander seed and garlic.
5)Strain the vegetable stock. And grind or mash 1/4 of the vegetable(rest of the vegetable can be used to make other things like vegetable bonda or vegatable Paniyaram etc)
6)Heat oil and season with mustard and asefotida.
7)Add the vegetable stock with mashed vegetables and tamarind pulp along with salt and let it boil.
8)Add chopped curry and coriander leaves and serve.
The recipes have been tasted and liked by my family and friends .Some Ingredients amount might be approximate in some recipes, which i mostly mention.Plz adjust the ingredients like spice and salt according to taste.I will be Happy to clear any doubts .and very happy to hear the feed back, which will help me improve my blog.
