COLLARD KUTTU

Collard are dark coloured greens, which belong to cabbage family. They are rich in calcium vitamim B1,B2,B9 , C and beta carotene .Collards are good sources soluble fiber and contain multiple nutrients with potent anti-cancer properties.

I liked the taste of this green when i tried Poriyal(curry) so... tried kuttu and it tasted good like any other kootu.

I am sorry i am not able to give you the measurement. it was all approximate.any of the dhals can be used. i basically prefer moong dhal or tur dhal as channa dhal causes gastric problem for most of them.

INGREDIENTS:

Moongdhal/tur dhal/channa dhal-cooked
Coconut-2 tbs
Jeera-1 tsp
Green chilli- to taste
Salt-to taste

Oil

METHOD:

1)Wash and chop the greens
2)Pressure cook the dhal.
3)Grind coconut, greenchill and jeera to fine paste.
4)Heat oil in a pan and saute the greens for few seconds.
5)Add the cooked dhal and enough water and add the ground coconut.
6)Cook till it boils.
7)Before removing from fire season it with mustard and asefotida.

Serve with rice.
