LOUKI HALWA


I love Poosani Halwa but never knew Louki/Sorakai halwa will taste this good till i learnt this in a cooking class in kothari institute,kellys,chennai.

INGREDIENTS:
Grated Louki-2 cups
Milk-4 cups(but i used 3 cups)
Sugar-1 1/2 cup(i used 1 cup)
Cashew/Almond- to garnish
Ghee-1 tbs
Saffron-1 pinch

METHOD:
1)Peel Skin and grate.
2)Squeeze out the water from grated louki.
3)Add milk  and saffron  along with louki and cook over medium flame till milk evaporates.
4)Add sugar and cook for about 10 minutes. Remove from flame and Garnish with almond/ cashew roasted in ghee.

NOTE: Since i had kept it in fridge it looks bit thick.
