'R-U-G' MURUKKU


'RUG'..sounding different uh?yeah.... to be very honest i don't know the name...LOL! i wanted to try something new for this Diwali and when i asked my mil she told me this recipe. She said it was shown on some TV by Mrs. Revathi shanmugam(? sorry if the name is wrong).So... y did i name it 'RUG'..... Its shortform of the ingredients used....Rice flour, Urad and Green gram...hehehhe :)
What ever the name is ....Its tasty,crispy.

INGREDIENTS:

Rice flour-2 cup
Greengram dhal-1/4 cup
Urad dhal-1/4 cup
Salt- to taste
Green chilli- to taste
Asfetodia-Pinch
Jeera-1/2 tsp(optional)
Butter/ hot oil-1tbs
Oil- to fry

METHOD:

1)Soak urad and greengram for 2-3 hrs and pressure cook along with green chilli.
2)Grind the cooked dhal to smooth paste.
3)Add this paste to rice flour along with salt, asefotida,jeera and hot oil.Mix well to make Murukku dough.
4)Fill the murukku maker with the dough and make murukku either directly in oil or on plastic sheet and later drop the murukku in hot oil.
5)Fry the murukku till golden brown.
