This is one of my favorite breakfast dish.When my neighbor first told me the recipe I was skeptical regarding the taste and texture,since I felt both the ingredients used are of sort of same ...meaning creamy and somewhat bland.Wasn't sure if I should really try this until I tasted it.
It's so easy to make ,nutritious and tasty too.It doesn't take much time too ferment too.
Urad dhal -1cup
Salt- to taste
Water- to grind
1)Soak urad in water for about 3-4 hrs.
2)Soak oats in the same water (or separately) just for 1/2 hr before grinding.
3)Grind both together till smooth like idly batter.
4)Add salt and keep it in warm place to ferment( it's faster that idly batter)
5)And as usual make crispy thin or thick dosa and enjoy with any spicy chutney or gravy ( shahi tofu like I did :-) )
