COCONUT JAM COOKIES



Jam cookies  and coconut cookies had been my favorites when i was a kid.Not sure if jam cookies are  still available in India .So this a combination of my 2 favorites hehehe :D
So the recipe too is a combination coconut cookies and jam tart that chellam aunty taught us.Before i proceed to the recipe please note that  measurements are approximate(eye measurement) as it was a combination of 2 recipes. so when trying please try in small amount. Thanks for understanding.
INGREDIENTS:
Whole wheat flour:1 cup
Sugar-1/2 cup(according to taste)
Salt-1/4 tsp
Vanilla essence-1/2 tsp
Milk-2-3 tsp(amount needed to make dough)
Grated coconut(or dessicated coconut)-2tbs(approximately)
Butter melted- 1/2 cup(approximately)
Jam- 1/2 tsp(approximately)
METHOD:
1)Preheat oven to 200 degree.
2)Mix all the ingredients except milk and jam to get bread crumbs sort of consistency .
3) Add milk and make a soft dough.
4)Roll the dough on a floured surface to chapathi and cut the desired shape with cookie cutter.
5) Press the cookie in the center with thumb to make a dent and fill it with drop of jam.
6)Palace it on a cookie sheet and bake for about 15- 20 minutes till golden brown.(I usually bake till i get the nice baking smell.)
7) Cool it and store in airtight container.
