BEET ROOT HALWA
One of my Favorite Sweets that's made with Vegetable...Beet root halwa.My amma used to make this kind of halwas with vegetables often just to make me eat these vegetables,which other wise I wont eat when I was young..but now things have changed...guess as we grow so does our taste buds haha ;D
The measurements were given by my amma.
Beet root-1/2 kg
Cardamom-4 or 5
Ghee-about 1 laddle
Milk-approximately 1/4 cup(just to cook beet root)
1)Peel Beet root skin and grate it.
2)Add Milk and pressure cook it.(Just for a whistle)
3)When cool grind it just little(not in my amma's recipe but I like it this way)
4)In a pan add sugar and this paste together till thick,stirring once in a while(add ghee when cooking).
5)Remove from fire and garnish with cashew or badam when it leaves the sides of the pan.
The recipes have been tasted and liked by my family and friends .Some Ingredients amount might be approximate in some recipes, which i mostly mention.Plz adjust the ingredients like spice and salt according to taste.I will be Happy to clear any doubts .and very happy to hear the feed back, which will help me improve my blog.
