Sounds healthy right ? ...of course it is not only healthy but also easy.Oats is goods source of soluble and insoluble fiber.The soluble fiber in oats reduces LDL without lowering HDL.This also slows down the digestion of starch and so beneficial for diabetes.The phytochemical in oats also has cancer fighting properties.
Not only this but oats also contains Zinc,magnesium,protein,vitamin E etc
Recently my sister-in law told me about this idly.And usual i tried the same day night for our dinner.we all liked it and That's how this recipe got its entry into my blog :P
INGREDIENTS:
Rava:1 cup
Oats:1 cup
Ginger:small piece(finely chopped)
Pepper:1tbs
Jeera:1tsp
Curry leaves:few finely chopped
Salt: to taste
Oil 1 tbs(approximately)
Green chilli: 1(finely chopped.optional)
Curds:to mix
Soda bi carb:1 pinch
METHOD:
1)Dry fry oats and powder it coarsely.
2)Fry rava in 1tsp oil(approximately)
3)Heat oil in a pan and fry ginger,green chilli,pepper,jeera and curry leaves.
4)Mix rava ,oats,fried pepper mixture along with salt and soda bi carb well.
5)Add enough curds (i used approximately 2 1/2 cup)
6)Pour in greased idly mould and steam till cooked (that's approximately around 10-15 minutes in medium flame)
Serve with spicy chutney or sambar.
