MILAGU (black pepper)THATTAI

Spicy milagu(black pepper)thattai, also known as Vadai maalai (garland made of vadai) is one among my favorite snacks. Its pretty simple snack just like thattai.Normally the Vadai malai Vadai given in Hanuman temples are bit hard to bit.But this is crisp .As told in my earlier posting (Thattai )I would like to thank Murugan anna for teaching me this superb recipe.
INGREDIENTS:
Rice flour-4 cup
Urad flour-1/2 cup
Pottukadalai (roasted bengal gram)-1/2 cup
Butter-2 tbs
Black pepper-1/4 cup Coarsely ground(according to your taste)
Split Urad dal(soaked)-1/2 cup
Asefotida-1/4 tsp
Salt-to taste
Oil-for frying
METHOD:
1)Mix rice flour, urad flour ,roasted Bengal gram flour, salt, asefotida, soaked urad dal and Black pepper.
2)Add butter and mix well with the flour and add water little by little till we get chapati dough consistency.
3)Make small balls and flatten them(either using chapati press or using chapati roller).
4)Heat oil and deep fry the thatai till golden brown.
