KOOTU KUZHAMBU

This is another speciality dish for thiruvaadhirai.We use 7 or 9 types of vegetables for this curry.Some people use only vegetables that grows on creeper like bitter guard,pumpkin etc. This kootu is done in many ways. Here is one such method that my mom used to do
INGREDIENTS:
7 or 9 types of vegetables cut( mostly Indian  vegetables like Broad beans,string beans,bittergourd,Yellow pumpkin,ivy gourd ,ridge gourd ,okra etc)-2cup
Ginger-1 tsp chopped
Green chilli-1 or 2 according to taste
Tamarind-1 small lemon size
Water-2 cups to soak tamarind)
Chilli powder- 1 tsp(according to taste)
Onion-1
Tomato-1
Salt- to taste
Cooked Dhal-1/2 cup
Turmeric- 1/4 tsp
METHOD:
1)Heat oil and fry onion and tomatoes.
2)Add slit chilli and ginger fry .
3)Add cut vegetables and salt and chilli powder.
4)Add tamarind pulp along with mashed dhal and water.
5)Cook in simmer till vegetables get cooked
Goes well with rice and also idly and dosa
