Buttermilk Biscuit

One more recipe without egg, which i happened to read in a book.I tasted this biscuit just once and i liked it :) 2 days back when i was waiting in dentist office i happened to read this magazine 'parenting' or' parent'(i don't remember the name exactly).they had given lot of recipes but most of them were either using eggs or non-veg.This was the only recipe which i could try.I immediately took pen and small grocery bill that i had in my handbag and wrote the recipe. here is this recipe.
INGREDIENTS:
All purpose flour-2 cups
Baking powder-1 tbs
Baking soda-1/4 tsp
Salt-1 tsp
Butter-6 tbs
Buttermilk- 3/4 cup(but i had to use little more).
METHOD:

1)Preheat oven to 450 degree.

2)Mix flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda.

3)Add butter(cut butter to small cubes ) and mix it with the flour well (like bread crumbs)

4)Add butter milk and knead well on a floured surface.

5)Press the dough with palm(do not roll using chapati rollers) about 1/2 inch.

6)Use round cutter and cut.

7)Place these round biscuits on a greased tray and bake for 10- 12 min.

MY EXPERIENCE:Do not press the dough after shaping.Since i didn't know if the size was correct i pressed it after shaping.Though taste was good and similar to the one that i had in the restaurant... I think it did not raise as much as it should have.
