GARLIC PARUPPU PODI



I think this would be every ones favorite in tamil nadu.Very simple and easy. Home food in salem is very famous for different types of saadham(Rice) podi. They sell different varieties Bitter guard rice powder etc.This is what my mom used to do:
INGREDIENTS:
Tur dhal-1 cup
Pottukadalai(roasted bengal gram)-1/4 cup
Salt- to taste
Red chilli- to taste(or can also use chilli powder)
Garlic -1 or 2 (whole)

METHOD:
1)Dry fry red chilli, garlic and tur dhal well.(fry until tur dhal turns golden brown)
(my mom some times uses red dhal(masoor dhal too)
2)Add salt and roasted bengal gram and powder all the ingredients finely.

Garlic paruppu podi ready.Mix with rice along with gingelly oil and serve.
