TACOS


Tacos has been only American food that kept me alive when we go out.Since i am a veggi and not a big favorite of veg burgers and salads its difficult for me to survive when we go out.But when i first heard this name i was so exited as this was my favorite in India too.... u might be surprised to hear this but... true... in India.
Chellam Aunty taught Mexican Tacos in her cooking class and i loved the taste and used to do this often.But when i tasted Tacos here for the first time i was in for a surprise... it was not the same taste :( but not bad when compared to other foods like Bagel and other stuffs.

This tacos which chellam aunty taught was Indian version i guess . i like this Indian version of tacos/ chaat better thaan american tacos.... I am republishing the post with the photo.


INGREDIENTS:
Maize flour-1 1/2 cup
Maida-1 cup
Oil-2 tbs
Water-to mix
Salt-to taste
Oil- to fry

METHOD:
1)Mix all the ingredients together to make a soft dough.Keep it covered for 1 -2 hrs.
2)Divide into small balls and roll out to thin rounds and prick the top( with fork or toothpick)and deep fry.
3)When they start getting crisp fold them into 2(to get a boat shape,semi circle)and fry till golden brown.
4)Store in air tight container when cool.


INGREDIENTS:
Rajma-1/4 kg
Onion-1/4 kg
Tomato-1/4 kg
Chilli powder-2tsp
Garam masala powder-2tsp
Butter-2tbs
Coriander(finely chopped)-topping
Cabbage(finely chopped)-topping
Chilli sauce-topping
Sev-topping
Onion(finely chopped)-topping
Tomato(finely chopped)-topping

METHOD:
1)Soak rajma overnight and pressure cook with salt.
2)fry onion till pink in butter/oil.
3)Add tomatoes,dry powder and fry well
4)Add cooked rajma(mashed slightly)and salt and cook till the gravy thickens.
5)Stuff the tacos with this filling and toppings just before serving.

SERVE IMMEDIATELY
